A healthy ventilation system for Sunjin in Vietnam

Vietnam is one of the fastest developing countries in Asia. Along with the growth of the economy, Vietnam livestock is also moving very fast. Vietnam is raising 28 Million pigs and the number is growing to meet the fast growing demand from local consumption. Sunjin (part of Harim Co.) is one of the biggest livestock companies in Vietnam. The head office is located in Korea with production locations in USA, China, Vietnam and the Philippines.

Ventilation system for large sections used to house pigs

In 2016 Sunjin completed a brand new production facility with 2 finisher houses and 16 weaner (7– 15 kg) houses in the south of Vietnam, 1.5 km from the coast.

All houses are equipped with the Fancom PowerFlow ventilation system. At minimum ventilation the air enters the house through the side inlets. At maximum ventilation the side inlets are closed and the curtains at the front of the house open for tunnel ventilation.

Air exhaust takes place by 3 variable speed fans and 2 on/off box fans at the end of the house.

The incoming air is cooled using water that flows through a paper pad installed in front of the tunnel inlet.

For emergency purposes both sides of the houses have tunnel inlets for natural ventilation.

In each house a Lumina 17 climate computer regulates the entire ventilation process. The computers are installed in the section and to protect the equipment for harmful gases, the equipment is mounted in a protective box.

The Lumina 17 controls the right indoor climate, regardless the outdoor conditions.

The pigs profit from the optimal climate in their house, which is beneficial to their growth and health.
